Christmas 2009

I never take enough pictures! Savannah is going to think that her parents were never there for special events!
Anyway, we had a FABULOUS Christmas! We were definitely spoiled but felt blessed to be around those we love! I am so grateful for a wonderful mother and mother in law who work so hard to make the holidays memorable!

The Sunday before Christmas we celebrated with Josh's family. We had a great dinner and opened presents. Savannah loves her new toys!

Then we loaded up and flew to California. The weather wasn't the 80 degrees that I dreamed it to be but it was still perfect. I never get homesick when I am there...I could stay forever! Anyways, we had a blast with my family and Savannah loved playing with her cousins! We went to Knotts Berry Farm, shopped, played and ate! :) I loved Christmas in CA. It was perfect!

Our Halloween festivities started out with an 80's murder mystery party...Josh's rocker outfit was the hit of the party...I on the other hand looked dumb, but hey, we had fun and that is all that matters! Thanks Dan and Brooke!

Next we carved pumpkins and trick or treated at Josh's moms work...I am sad I didn't get any pictures of that one. Savannah made a pretty dang cute kitty!

Utah schools have crazy Halloween parades with hundreds of people in attendance...I always feel a little pressure to impress and luckily a friend had a CUTE Minnie Mouse costume...

On Halloween night Miss Savannah Kate dressed up as a flower(thanks Erin!) It was such a cute costume! She surprisingly kept the hat on! We had a fun party at Josh's parents house where we ate and did a little trick or treating...then we met up with some friends! I loved Halloween this year! Having Sav around makes everything more fun!

Bunco at the Cabin!

This month was my turn to host BUNCO! I have an amazing BUNCO group and we never have enough time to just hang out and talk! So I had a great idea to turn it into a sleepover at my parents cabin! It was a blast! We shopped at the outlets and then headed to the cabin. Within the first half hour 4 mice were found, millions of flies, and we had someone knock on the front door(scary when you are in the middle of no where with all girls!)After all that we still had fun! Thanks girls! Lets do it again...SOON!

Hanging out...

A group pic at the outlets...

Getting rid of the mice...Raelene and Kim did great!

The cute Halloween/bunco cupcakes for dessert...

We missed you Lindsay, Natalie and Adrie! Thanks for subbing Racquel and Jen!

Big Changes Coming Our Way!

Remember this part of my past...

Well, it's coming back! Most of you know that I taught school for 3 years before I had Savannah. I thought I was done with that phase of my life but that was until I got a call from my Principal. They need a part time kindergarten teacher. This has been a really hard decision...especially because I needed to decide quick! I haven't stopped thinking about this opportunity. We could really use the income, it's only part time and it's something I LOVE. On the other hand, I have to leave my baby. It kills me to think about it. I have been so spoiled being a stay at home mom. Luckily my in-laws are AMAZING. They are able to watch Savannah most of the time, which is such a blessing. I don't have to worry one bit, but trying to decide who to leave her with on the days they aren't watching her is hard. Savannah is a great baby and I know she will adjust well. Anyway, this has consumed my thoughts for the last week and I could write pages more about my thoughts but I will spare you!

I officially start Oct. 6th.

Wish me luck!

1st Ice Cream Cone!

While we were in Park City last weekend, we decided to get out and go walk Main Street. Josh's parents were with us and they bought Savannah an ice cream cone, Superman flavored, of course! She LOVED it! In fact, when Josh took it away to take the wrapper off, she FREAKED out! It was so funny! This little girl is full of emotion!

It's been a while...

Just got back from a FABULOUS beach house...

Life is good.

Especially when you have AMAZING people to share it with!

More to come...just thought I would check in!

p.s. She is WALKING! She has been for a while but now she prefers it over crawling. LOVE HER!

Lake Powell 2009

So, Friday the 24th, Adrienne called me up on her way to Lake Powell and invited me to come and be there Wednesday with her family. I thought my Lake Powell days were over now that I have Savannah, but the Lindsay fam knew it would be no fun with out me! :) Actually, I was the last resort due to other people not being able to come! I debated back and forth about going, just me and Sav, but I finally decided to go. Lake Powell is the most amazing place on earth. We had a blast. The drive was stressful, but Savannah did really good. She did really good on the boat...she slept awesome which always makes things easier! It was so fun spending a couple of days with some of my favorite people and the food was amazing as always! Thank you year give me a little more notice, will ya?!

Me and Savannah...

Savannah and her long lost BFF Maddison...yes they are 6 months apart and weigh the same! Sorry that Savannah likes to attack you Maddie...that's how she shows her love!

Savannah ate her way through her vacation! Nothing new! She also learned how to stand up not holding on to anything while we were there. Adrienne also put cute piggies in her hair! I wish I would have taken more pictures...maybe one of some adults, but the babies stole the camera time, like always!

1 year old stats...

Last Tuesday Savannah had her 1 year old Dr's. appointment! We left straight from her appointment for Lake Powell so I haven't had time to record her stats...

weight: 20 pounds 10 ounces (45%)
height 30 1/4 inches (80%)

Have I ever told you that I LOVE her pediatrician? I look forward to our visits. If you are looking for a good doc his name is Dan Clayton in Draper.

Don't you just LOVE her one year old pictures and outfit?

Lake Powell post coming soon...

We had Savannah's party on Friday night. I had so much fun putting it together. The food, decorations, and company couldn't have been better. Josh even made a video of Savannah's 1st year to show everyone! My parents flew up and Josh's family all came. Small, but perfect and Savannah loved it!
The Birthday Girl...

Most of the decorations...

With all her presents...she loves them toys are the best, but my personal fav are the blocks with her name, click on the pic to see it bigger...

And cake time...

Special thanks to...
Raelene who accidently made the perfect dress for Savannah to match her party decor
Liz for making the party favors...yummy, cute sugar cookies and
Cravings for the yummy cupcakes!
I would recommend all 3 of these women to help plan a perfect party!

One year ago...

I held Savannah for the very first time.
I had no idea what I was in for. At times I thought I was not cut out for the role of motherhood and that God trusted me WAY too much to raise this beautiful baby girl.
Little did I know that I would love someone the way I love her...That I would do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING for her...That I would find no greater joy than to raise a happy, healthy child.
Little did I know that a year would go by way to fast and this sweet baby of mine would be growing up right before my eyes.
There is nothing I would rather do than to be with Savannah all day. She makes me happy. She is perfect. She makes me want to be a better mom. There is nothing more fun than to watch her learn new things. Savannah is beautiful. Her eyes are beautiful and so is her smile. Her little personality is so funny. She's a sassy little girl who knows what she wants. She loves to sleep and eat. She loves to make messes. She loves to empty things. She loves to drop things. She loves her bath time with dad. She loves kids and dogs. We can't get enough of her and are so excited to see what this year has in store for this little one. Happy Birthday Savannah Kate!

More on her B-Day week to come!

Savannah and I had a blast in California! We went down for my nephew Ethan's baptism and stayed to help my sister with her wonderfully chaotic life with her now 4 children. My biggest fear of staying so long was how Savannah would handle it. She did great which made the trip so easy. She slept 13-14 hour nights and took long naps. We wore her out! She is not used to the craziness of the real world! We didn't do much but loved just being with family. We spent a lot of time with...

and got lots of good Grandma time with...

We ate a lot of our favorite foods...

Played even more with...

and most importantly, we got lots of quality mother/daughter time in(as always!)

I cried the night before we left. Nothing makes me more happy then being with my family, especially my nieces and nephews. I love them so much and have fun watching them grow up. I also love having Savannah get familiar with them too. It's been nice being home, but nothing beats CALIFORNIA! Thanks for the great trip everyone!
