Happy Mother's Day!

I wish I had pic handy to post of my mom, but there is not one on my computer or my camera at the moment! Anyway, I wanted everyone to know how amazing the moms are in my life, especially my own mom. I could write pages about all her many wonderful attributes. She is generous. She is patient. She is one of the most easy going, laid back people I know. She is the exact mom I want to be someday. Of course I never valued our relationship as much as I do now. I talk to her almost every day and thanks to her, I see her often even though she lives in California. Thank you mom...thank you for your example, for your support and most of all your love! I love you!

8 weeks, 5 days left...

But, who's counting? Am I really that pregnant? I don't feel like I am, maybe it's just a bad angle! I should take a pic of our progress in our little one's nursery, but I will probably post more when it is all finished. Last week I got her bedding, her crib, and Josh even hung up her cute crystal chandelier. We still have a lot to do, but it's a start. I have also had 2 showers at school and I am amazed at how spoiled we are. Little girls are so fun!

Go Jazz Go!

Friday night I got to go to the game...we had so much fun! I am a big Jazz fan (due to my husbands obession) but I was really most excited to see David Archuleta sing the national anthem. He is such a cute guy and did a good job. I am looking forward to watching A.I. Tuesday night to see the recap of his hometown visit. Salt Lake City's claim to fame! (I can't be too big of a Jazz fan seeing that the game is on right now and I am blogging! I better make this quick!)

JCP Shipment Delay Notification

I know I just posted, but I just got this email and had to tell somebody...So, I ordered my bedding on March 14th. It said it the ship date was May 2nd. Yes, I was a little annoyed, but I had plenty of time. Well, the title of the email tonight was this...JCP Shipment Delay Notification...my heart sunk. DELAY?!? I have been waiting for so long already, give me a break. I opened the email hoping it was delayed for only a short time, and it said this...

Dear MEGAN CHASE,
Our manufacturer has advised us that the items below have been shipped.
Yeah! I am so excited. Let's hope I like it in person as much as I love the picture!

Diabetes and Other things...

I am diabetes free! After a long morning, and 4 blood tests later, I am officially able to eat all the sugar I want! Okay maybe not, but I am so grateful I don't have to be on a strict diet. For all of you that know my eating habits know that I would not be good at that. So that was good news. The test wasn't all that bad...good thing I talked on the phone for most of the time and that I had reign over the remote control in the waiting room! Also, I figured I had to take advantage of my day off and felt bad for myself that I had needles in me all morning, so I went and got a facial and back facial right after from my sister in law Jenny who is in Esthetician(sp)school. Thanks Jenny...you are amazing! She even let me take a nap there...

Other things...

So I have been stressing out about my dream nursery...mostly because I haven't started anything and I am having a baby in 11 weeks. Some things are coming together for it and I am really excited. I am still waiting for my darn bedding to do anything major. Anyway, Adrienne decided to get all crafty on m and put her touch in my nursery. I love it! She made me the cutest bow holder/magnet board thingy and I won the cute white frames at BUNCO. She made those too. Thanks Adrie! I was so excited to bring them home and hold them up to the wall!

By the way, I wanted to give a little shout out to all the BUNCO girls...I love bunco and all the girls I get to hang out with each month. I always look forward to it and have so much fun...even if I do get "travel!"

My surprise date...

So, last Friday there was the poem above, and an overnight bag left in my car(by the way, the overnight bag he packed included a "nicer" outfit I am wearing that was dirty on the floor worn previously in the week, pj's, and a swimsutit top with a one piece! I had to laugh!) Josh has always been really good at wowing me and doing cute things. I must say, like most boys, he was way better when we were dating, engaged and first married. However, every once in a while he brings back the charm. Back to my story...so I read the poem, and followed the directions anxiously. I met at his parents house where he was waiting with HIS dream car. He was more excited about this part than I was...I still thought it was pretty cool.
We headed downtown to go to dinner at the Melting Pot. I am still drooling thinking about the dessert. Don't get me wrong, the whole meal was amazing, but the dessert was my favorite. If you get a chance to go there anytime soon get the Bananas Foster Chocolate Fondue! YUMMY!
From dinner, we took advantage of our temporary car and drove around the houses in the Avenues and then headed to the Hilton hotel, where we were upgraded to stay on the Executive Level. We went down to the pool, watched T.V. etc. It was a fun night! My husband is so thoughtful! I love him so much and am grateful that he still likes to impress me. I wish I was better at doing things for him...I need to work on that! The rest of the weekend was spent in the sun...I am so excited about this great weather!

Conference Weekend...

A few of us went up to my parents cabin in Oakley for conference weekend. It was so relaxing and fun! Friday afternoon, the girls left, stopped at Cafe Rio, then headed up to the outlets to find some smokin' sweet deals! None of us walked away empty handed! The boys all went to the Jazz game and met us up at the cabin later that night. We played games, watched Failure to Launch and went to bed! Saturday was a total lounge around day, except for those who attempted to ski and sled down random hills/cliffs. These pics. were taken right before Mark, Racquel, John and Nicole had to leave. Adrienne and I stayed in the same pj's, no shower look until Sunday...gross, I know. We even went out to dinner after the priesthood session and looked the same way! Good thing we were in Kamas! Sunday, we slept in got up and left. Thanks Mom and Dad...we are lookng forward to many more fun cabin days ahead!

26 weeks...

I actually took this picture when I was 25 weeks, so picture me a little bigger! I need to take more belly pics, but it's rare when I get ready and feel like taking pictures of myself! I don't think anyone really loves any picture of themselves, especially when they are pregnant!

Why I love going home...

I had a blast in California with my family...I could have stayed out there for weeks...actually probably forever! The weather was amazing and I stayed busy doing lots of fun things! Getting a pedicure is always on the top of my list when going down there because they are so cheap(well not so much this time) and you wear flip flops the whole time so you have to! I also love the frozen yogurt craze down there...yummy! You make your own and they charge you by the ounce. There is actually a place like that in SLC now too!
Of course I hung out with my nieces and nephews the whole time! We went to the pool 2 days in a row! I loved it! The pic below didn't turn out too well, but the sunsets are always great at my parents house.
I was on the baby gear hunt the whole time too! I don't think my baby girl is going to have furniture in her room. I have expensive taste, but am the biggest bargain shopper! I am just going to have to face the fact that I am not going to find the right crib and dresser for the right price. Any tips? Thanks for all the response about registering. I did that too in CA. It was not nearly as fun as registering for my wedding! I can't believe how much things cost! I feel like I am going to change my registry a bunch because I just can't make up my mind. Before we registered my family ate at BJ'S! My favorite place ever...barbecue chicken pizza...I'm drooling!
One of my favorite parts of the trip...my diaper bag purchase! Many of you have heard of Ju-Ju-Be Diaper bags... Check out their website if you haven't! My moms bishop invented/founded the company so I got to go and pick out my bag from their garage! It's always hard to find the one you want because you can't buy them straight from the website, so I was so happy when he invited me over to get one(well, I invited myself!) I got an amazing deal and I love it!

Why do I live in Utah again...someone please remind me?

Babysitting and Wedding...

We went to the most amazing wedding last night! (Luke and Hollie Whatcott's)It was gorgeous! It was a sit down, name card and all, 3 course dinner that was served to us. I loved it. Part of me wishes I did my wedding like that...and I kick myself all the time about not getting a darn wedding video done! The best part about the night was that Hollie is cousin's with Peter Brienholt, so he was part of the entertainment. Josh had fun hanging out with his high school friends. I love weddings...I wish planning weddings was part of my career, but maybe later in life. Right now I have fun hanging out with 5 year olds! p.s. they let us take apart the centerpieces at the end of the night and take all the roses home!

Wednesday and Thursday we got to stay with the Clark kids. They live down the street. We had so much fun with Millie, Sam, and Wilbur. They are the cutest kids with the best personalities. This would be way to long of a blog if I started quoting all the funny things they said. It was fun playing parents for a few days, especially with such trained, well behaved kids!

One of the CUTEST girls ever!

This is Tati (short for Tatianna)...she is one of the most behaved, adorable 3 year olds I know! We got to watch her last night and I had so much fun (besides the fact that I am sick and my head feels like it is going to explode!) She brought Mary Poppins, we made cookies, watercolored, and painted our nails! Josh really enjoyed her too...now lets see if we can produce a girl just as perfect as she is!

20 weeks and the ultra sound!

So, we had our appointment yesterday, and we are so excited! I was so happy about having a little girl! I can't wait! It was so fun having both of our mom's there...after the appointment we went straight to Old Navy to buy some cute little outfits and then my mother in law bought me some clothes at Motherhood Maternity. I can't wait to buy more for my little one, but I am trying not to go too crazy! Josh is neutral...excited, but hasn't really comprehended the whole idea! It was a fun day, ended with a great night at BUNCO! Life is awesome!

Brag session...

So, I am excited to post about our most amazing trip ever, but it will take a while so I need to do it later...check out my friend Adrienne's blog...she pretty much wrote the most detailed blog ever about our trip!
Anyway, back to my orginal post...my brother owns a graphic desgin and printing company in Southern California. He is way talented and has done work for well known companies. However, his most notable work is featured in People magazine this week. He designed and printed the wallpaper for Christina Aguilera's nursery! I would not have picked out this particular design...not my favorite at all. It has been interesting to hear all the behind the scene stories about it all, and I am excited to come up with the theme for my nursery. I am hoping my brother will come up with something super sweet for my babies room!
Expect another post very soon...I find out what I am having tomorrow! Yea! And, I will have to post another belly pic because I feel like I have popped out way more in the last week or so!

18 weeks and snow pics!

Me at 18 weeks! I think this picture makes me look bigger than I really am...I think it's the tight shirt or maybe I am just in denial! 1 and a half weeks till I am halfway done and find out what I am having! yea! Last night my sister in law waxed my legs (and burnt my eyebrows!) so I am all ready for Hawaii! 2 more days! I can't wait to wear flip flops!
These are pictures of the after math of the storm we had last week. After it stopped snowing, Josh went out and got to work! As you can tell, it was above his knees! It finally cleared up and we were still able to get out for the Super Bowl!

Web Cam and SNOW!

First of all, Josh and I got to talk with our good friends Jack and Sarah using a web cam. It was so cool! They've been living in Europe since October-ish and it was so fun to be able to see and talk to them. It made me want to get a web cam for everyone in my family so we can talk for free and see eachother while we talk. My nieces and nephews would love it too! So, one of my new favorite things is a web cam. I actually don't have one yet,(we used Josh's parents) but it's on my things to buy list!

The big news of the day is...we are snowed in! Ok, not literally, we can still open our front door, but even our church was canceled! This is part of an email from our bishop titled SNOW EMERGENCY...

RECOMMEND NO TRAVEL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
IF YOU TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE AREA, CARRY A SNOW SHOVEL AND BLANKETS IF YOU GET STRANDED.
KEY HERE IS THAT WE HAVE ALREADY PULLED SEVERAL FOLKS OUT OF THE SNOW DRIFTS...
UNLESS YOU HAVE 4 WHEEL DRIVE , DON’T LEAVE THE HOUSE. TAKE CARE OF YOURFAMILY FIRST, THEN HELP A NEIGHBOR.
ALL HOME TEACHERS CALL YOUR FAMILIES AND CHECK ON THEIR STATUS.
I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THOUGH A PLOW HAS BEEN ON SOME STREETS, CONDITIONS ARE SO BAD NOW THAT DRAPER IS NOT SENDING MORE PLOWS UNTIL THE STORM SUBSIDES.
IN SHORT, USE YOUR HEAD. KNOW YOUR CAPABILITIES...YOUR LIMITATIONS. DON’T PRESS BEYOND THEM.

Crazy huh! I wish I had a pic, but they aren't turning out too well, considering it is completely white outside! I swear I live in Antartica! This has been the worst winter ever! At least I only have 8 more days until I leave for Hawaii!

Hawaii...here we come!

Before you know it, Josh and I will be back in beautiful weather, living in our swimsuits and floppy hats! I can't wait. We thought we had better take at least one more sweet vacation before we enter into parenthood, so we booked a trip! We've always wanted to travel with friends, so we are excited to be going with Adrienne and J.D. We wasted no time and decided to go while it was still winter, so we are leaving in 20 days! We will be there for Valentines, Adriennes B-day and our anniversary! YEAH! The good thing is now we have time before July to fit another trip in, not counting CA!

Funny sleep habits...

So, Josh is a weird sleeper. He always wakes me up with his talking and weird movements. The funny part is, no matter how much he is talking to me, he really does not remember anything in the morning. Last night was the best...Most of you know that I am for sure a night person, and I didn't have school today, so I was going to stay up later than Josh. Of course I fell asleep watching TV... I finally woke up and went to bed. As soon as I opened the door to our bedroom, Josh flips off the blankets and jumps up out of bed. I freak out in the corner by the door and say things like, "What are you doing," "Josh wake up, you are freaking me out." Then he says, "Why do you always freak out when I get up at night?" I knew he wasn't awake. He continues to say, "I just want to get a cold glass of milk and pour it on your face!" Then I say, "Are you awake?" And he sleepily responds, "Yes," as he quickly falls right back to sleep. I laughed out loud for a few minutes and replayed it in my head so I wouldn't forget what he said. Of course my adrenaline was rushing too because for a second there I was really scared...And do you think he remembered this morning? NO!

Our weekend...

Goodbye Ford Ranger! Josh is finally getting a truck from work! His boss has told him the whole year that he would get one. Last week his boss told him that he could put his old truck up for sale...so he did. Josh was bored on Friday so I said put your truck on Craigslist and see what happens. He posted it and 2 minutes later a guy called him...5 minutes after that Josh was leaving to meet the guy to show him the truck...15 mins after that I was leaving because he had sold it and didn't have a ride home! Good thing we had 3 cars and he will have something to drive this week. We better get a new truck this week...anyone want to buy a Dodge neon?
Saturday, I had to take a test at UVSC at 7:30 am! For anyone who has their teaching degree, which lots of you actually do, I had to take the Praxis content test over again. I took it 5 years ago and got a 147. To get my level 2 license I had to get a 150. So I took it again. I will be lucky if I got a 100. It was so hard and random...I will let you know in 4 weeks what my score was...

The rest of the day we hung out with Adrienne and JD. We went golfing, went to Trolley Square, and then to the Jazz game. It was a lot of fun. Adrienne and I are such good sports! We even tried golfing on the 3 par course, but it was just to cold (and boring.) Josh and JD are connected at the hip, literally...see the dark pic above. Starting this week, JD is even working at Brite Nites with Josh. They have quite the life.
